Our story begins in 1957 with the arrival of Mr Khatnani Douglas to the island of Gran Canaria, where he worked and gained experience and learned languages in different bazaars mainly directed towards the Scandinavian, British and German tourists. With the experience gained, in 1966 he owned and opened his first store in Calle Albareda (in the area of the Playa de Las Canteras and the famous Parque de Santa Catalina). In the following fours years, and with the help of his brothers, he already had five properties (Bazar Sita, Minox I, II, III and Bazar Mónica). In 1975, as a result of the tourist boom in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirjana, in the south of the island of Gran Canaria, he moved to Playa del Inglés and opened up a 100m2 shop in Metro Shopping Centre destined to boutique, bazaar and perfumery. During 2002 and 2003, the company opened two new stores in the tourist area of Meloneras. These stores have a huge shopping area of 450m2 and 850m2 destined to Mango, Esprit and perfumery and cosmetics. The new challenges not only include having a larger network of stores in the islands and the rest of Spain, e-commerce, supply diversity, management systems of stores and shop. Our challenge remains the same, it is the one that we had when we opened up our business 50 years ago and it is none other than to keep offering our customers high quality products tailored to our most demanding clients.
